Signal Processing in Distributed Systems with Limited Resources
نویسندگان
چکیده
Distributed wireless systems offer several advantages over their traditional wired and centralized counterparts, e.g., flexibility, easy installation, reconfiguration, and scalability. Although the resources in these distributed systems are often limited in order to achieve costeffective operation, the concept of distributed system design is in the focus of intensive research even in those application fields that are extremely susceptible against the uncertainties caused by decentralized operation. Such applications are closed-loop signal processing systems where signals are fed back through a shared communication channel. There are three challenging problems of distributed closed-loop signal processing systems: bandwidth limit of the communication medium, synchronization of sensor nodes and data loss in communication. The paper introduces these problems and proposes some possible solutions.

Collaborative Processing in Distributed Control for Resource Constrained Systems
We propose a distributed control algorithm using a new idea of collaborative processing for networked control systems with limited computational resources. In a networked control system, the processing unit is required to complete multiple tasks (such as control, sensing, signal processing, etc.) in a timely manner. Due to limited computational resources that are available to the processing uni...
متن کاملApplication of Signal Processing Tools for Fault Diagnosis in Induction Motors-A Review-Part II
The use of efficient signal processing tools (SPTs) to extract proper indices for the fault detection in induction motors (IMs) is the essential part of any fault recognition procedure. The 2nd part of this two-part paper is, in turn, divided into two parts. Part two covers the signal processing techniques which can be applied to non-stationary conditions. In this paper, all utilized SPTs for n...
متن کاملRadar Signal Detection in K-distributed Clutter by Pade Approximation
In this paper, two suboptimum detectors are proposed for coherent radar signal detection in K-distributed clutter. Assuming certain values for several initial moments of clutter amplitude, the characteristic function of the clutter amplitude is approximated by a limited series. Using the Pade approximation, it is then converted to a rational fraction. Thus, the pdf of the clutter amplitude is o...

متن کاملResource - Constrained Signal Processing
T he primary design objective of computing and communication systems has been performance: the speed of signal processing, the rate of communications, and the optimization of quality of service. For wireless systems and networks deployed on a large scale and untethered to power sources, practical considerations dictate a dif ferent design regime, one that should be dominated by energy and bandw...
